First assignment released digitally,
I am gladly presenting to you, especially for course's attendants, third assignment problems and bonus problems. This assignment was designed mainly to calculate losses in prestressing tendon, checking stresses, Magnel optimization curve, and its concept in order to get full comprehension in simple serviceability design.
Both of these problems can be downloaded through links below:

and

Password may be needed to be able to download it,
Password : prestress
Please feel free to discuss the problems in this blog or weekly assistance meeting on next Friday.
Good luck and try to do it by yourself.

Second Entry,
I am getting used to this...
Firstly, I want to share my research progress this week. Last week, I've consulted about my research proposal. My preliminary design had been finished, but need to be checked with several items in our building codes (SNI). These items include details in reinforcement, modals involvement in analysis, and specific requirements for wall design which can resist severe earthquake excitation. So, my next 2 weeks schedule is about completing both of analysis and design details.
Meanwhile, I become an assistant for undergraduate course namely "Perilaku Struktur Beton Prategang" (Prestressed Concrete Behavior). This course mainly discusses about the design and behavior of concrete when prestress force is applied in order to resist service loads (both of dead and live load). This technology is more advance that conventional method which the tensile forces/stresses is not independently resisted by concrete and reinforcement, but also the prestressing tendon/steel.
I've been told that it is a good idea to post this course assistance process to add something new in my blog. This process include assignment question bank and some discussion about course's problems.
So, through this entry, I welcome all of this course's attendants to freely discuss this course problems.
I am thinking about attaching our assignment problem in this blog to introduce my new blog and research.
This is it,
Ariel A. Suselo
